Strikes are also affecting Portugal's airline TAP, with a 24-hour walkout by cabin crew causing 28 flights from Lisbon airport to be grounded on Sunday. The strike started at midnight on Friday and another 24-hour strike is scheduled for tomorrow. The strikes have been estimated to cost the state-owned airline around €5 million per day.
Most of the cancelled flights were domestic routes, although some international flights, mainly to and from Europe, were also cancelled.
Cabin crew are demanding compliance with a labor and pay agreement signed in 2006 by the airline with the National Union of Civil Aviation Flight Staff (SNPVAC).
