TAP Air Portugal is expanding its summer routes from Lisbon and Porto.
Lisbon is to get 10 extra summer-season weekly flights to five North American cities, with Boston services increasing to twice-daily, Miami and Washington to 10, and Chicago and San Francisco to five.
Links to Brazil are to be upgraded, the flag carrier added, with Sao Paulo-Lisbon services going up to 20 a week, Belo Horizonte to seven, Brasilia and Salvador to six, and Belem to four.
Portugal's second city Porto is to also benefit, TAP said, with a first direct flight between Porto and Luanda set to take off for the first time at the end of May.
"Direct flights between Porto and New York (currently twice a week), will become a daily service and be operated on the new state-of-the-art Airbus 321LR, which offers customers enhanced comfort levels, as well as greater fuel efficiency and reduced emissions," TAP said, with flights from Porto to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to increase to three and two a week during summer.
“TAP’s popular Porto services are being boosted for summer 2023 to cater for increased customer demand, with new routes, extra capacity and newer aircraft," said Ricardo Dinis, TAP market manager UK, Ireland and Nordics.
