Swiss Helicopter and compatriot air rescue service Rega said they are to jointly procure a cockpit module for the Airbus H125 helicopter to help train pilots.
"Well-trained cockpit crews form the basis for safe helicopter flights - this applies to transport flights as well as to rescue operations," Rega explained.
The use of the module would cut emissions as well, Rega said in a statement announcing the deal, as it would mean more simulator-based training.
"Accordingly, simulator training is important in the training and further education of pilots and for flight safety," the rescue company added, estimating that the H125 is the most-used helicopter in the Alpine country, where helicopters are needed for transport across the mountains.
