Swedavia, which owns and manages Sweden’s major airports, including Stockholm Arlanda and Göteborg Landvetter, has reported that a strong increase in demand for international travel continued in September. At the same time, the company noted that domestic travel was at comparable levels to September 2024.
During September, more than three million passengers flew via one of Swedavia's ten airports. This represents an increase of approximately two per cent compared with last year.
The increase in international passengers was highest at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Gothenburg Landvetter Airport and Malmö Airport. After Stockholm Arlanda Airport, the number of domestic passengers increased the most at Swedavia's regional airports, Luleå Airport, Umeå Airport and Åre Östersund Airport.
