Up to 20 companies have registered interest in acquiring either stock and/or assets belonging to Cyprus Airways, in the wake of the Cypriot government’s recently issued request for Expressions of Interest over its 93.67% stake in the carrier.
Among the airlines and aviation-related interests are Aegean Airlines, Ryanair, Romania’s Blue Air, and Arkia Israeli Airlines.
Cypriot Communications Minister Marios Demetriades stated that 25% of the companies that have submitted EoIs to the Cypriot government so far have been related to aviation.
