Boeing is running out of space to store all of the 787s it has manufactured that cannot yet be delivered as the aircraft still need to receive certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration.
Three 787s sit on the tarmac near the Boeing’s Future of Flight Aviation Center, with two aircraft bound for Royal Maroc Airlines one for Japan Airlines. The parked aircraft have yellow concrete blocks hanging from the wing pylons instead of engines.
Despite the storage problem, to meet its delivery schedule, Beoing need to continue with its production rate even though the aircraft will not receive FAA approval until next year.
