The Kuwaiti government is reported to have refused to cover the KD145 million ($490 million) in losses incurred by state-owned airline Kuwait Airways during the past two years.
Finance Minister Anas Khalid Al Saleh had demanded the airline shoulder its debts as it prepares to become a listed company, reports the Arabic daily Al Qabas. There is no public timeline for the privatisation.
