StandardAero celebrates 10th anniversary of Brisbane facility

StandardAero completed a decade of its engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in Brisbane, QLD, Australia this March. The 22,000 sq. ft. facility at Brisbane is a Pratt & Whitney Canada-authorized PT6A Designated Overhaul Facility (DOF) with distribution rights on certain engine models.

It also provides field service support for a number of other P&WC engines, including the JT15D, PT6T, PW100 and PW300.

“It is truly gratifying to reflect on the achievements of the Brisbane facility team over the past decade,” said Stephen Leigh, Vice President and General Manager of StandardAero’s Brisbane facility.  “Our employees embody StandardAero’s commitment to exceeding customer expectations and we are proud to support a broad mix of operators from across Australia and beyond, not least the Royal Flying Doctors Service.”

The facility mainly provides support for the Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS) that has a fleet of 79 aircraft including PT6A-powered Pilatus PC-12 and Beechcraft King Air. The RFDS accounts for approximately 35% of the Brisbane shop’s activity, and the facility recently marked completion of its 1,000th work order for the RFDS.
