ST AEROSPACE to develop 15-pallet configuration for 757-200SF freighter conversion

ST Aerospace will launch the development of a 15-pallet cargo configuration for its Boeing 757-200 freighter conversion programme. This new 15-pallet variant will have winglets installed on the aircraft.

Including this new configuration, ST Aerospace now offers a full suite of Boeing 757 freighter conversions: 8-pallet cargo-passenger combination configuration with a class E forward cargo compartment ; 14.5-pallet cargo configuration with rigid barrier ; 15-pallet cargo configuration with rigid barrier.

As part of the development, ST Aerospace will obtain a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the 15-pallet configuration. It is expected to receive certification by July 2014. This STC will be based on ST Aerospace’s existing FAA-approved STC for the Boeing 757-200 passenger-to-freighter (PTF) conversion which is the only STC developed based on Boeing’s licensed passenger and freighter data.

To ensure consistently high standards of quality, ST Aerospace will be working closely with Boeing’s technical support, to develop and maintain a cost-efficient converted freighter that will enhance asset reliability and asset value while reducing cost.
