SpiceJet resolves disputes with lessors, finalises lease agreement for 10 aircraft
SpiceJet has finalised lease agreements for ten aircraft as part of its efforts to augment capacity, as well as receiving a further three airframes as part of recent settlement agreements. The aircraft will arrive in time to service the airline’s 2024 summer schedules, reported ch-aviation. After announcing the successful resolution of a $449.8 million dispute with Echelon Ireland Madison One on March 7 2024, SpiceJet acquired two airframes in a settlement resulting in savings of $48 million for the carrier. The resolution of a further $11.2 million dispute with Cross Ocean Partners also resulted in the transfer of another airframe and engine to the airline. Another outstanding $29.9 million dispute between SpiceJet and AerCap subsidiary AerCap was successfully concluded. ‘SpiceJet remains steadfast in its mission to serve the Indian aviation sector and looks forward to continuing its growth trajectory while delivering unparalleled value and convenience to passengers across the country,’ concluded the carrier.
