A new UK-based company is planning to launch its spare parts platform, Spaero, which aims to ‘unite and democratise aircraft parts trading and accelerate procurement’ by adopting a centralised approach to component acquisition.
“We created Spaero to bring a disruptive force to the sector and to help partners fed up with archaic ways of doing business and trading,” detailed Spaero founder Myles Corey, who highlighted that the new solution – initially set to launch on April 1 – represents “just the start” of the journey for the platform and its users.
Operating on a subscription-free model with no sign-up costs, Spaero describes the platform as a ‘private intermediary’ with a thorough focus on trust. All buyer, distributor and repair centre utilising it will undergo a ‘rigorous security and compliance audit,’ with ‘know your customer checks’ further assessing risk factors. Additionally, all transactions are to be underwritten for credit risk, with Spaero only entertaining enquiries from vetted end users (eliminating brokers).
The streamlining of bulk RFQ processing and real-time part availability data will also offer ‘substantial efficiency gains’ to buyers, notes Spaero.
