Southwest Airlines has won several satisfaction categories in a Zagat survey. The awards include best value among domestic airlines, best luggage policy, best check-in experience, best consumer on-time estimates, and most eco-friendly.
"Customer service is the core of our business," said Whitney Eichinger, a spokesperson at Southwest.
The survey includes 8,000 opinions from frequent fliers and travel professionals, covering 16 domestic airlines and 74 international airlines, as well as 30 airports within the United States.
Continental Airlines and JetBlue Airways won plaudits for premium seating and economy seating, respectively. While Singapore Airlines won the international airline category for premium and economy seating.
