SOUTHWEST REDUCES PHILADELPHIA SERVICES

From January 2012, Southwest Airlines will cut its service to Philadelphia from Manchester and Providence, and will also reduce its service to Philadelphia from Boston. The cut equates to a 25% reduction in daily flights between Philadelphia and Logan International Airport and is due to a lack of demand for Philadelphia flights.

Southwest will reduce the number of flights from Philadelphia to Logan to six from eight daily in January, and to five a day in February.

The airline is also cutting its daily flight from T.F. Green airport, near Providence, to Phoenix, but replacing it with a southwest flight to Colorado.

But from January 8, Southwest will launch a new daily flight from Manchester-Boston Regional Airport to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. It is also adding a daily flight from T.F. Green to Denver.
