South Africa's FlySafair to lease five Boeing aircraft from AerCap

FlySafair, a South African low-cost carrier, has signed lease agreements for five Boeing aircraft from AerCap.

The deal includes three new 737 MAX 8 aircraft, which are scheduled for delivery in Q1 2028, and two 737-800NG aircraft, which are scheduled for delivery in Q3 2026.

The transaction is FlySafair’s first with AerCap, and also marks the introduction of the 737 MAX to the FlySafair fleet.

FlySafair launched in October 2014. It currently has an operating fleet of 36 aircraft and flies to 14 cities in the Southern Africa region.

The deal was announced at Dubai Airshow 2025.
