Airlines have now cancelled 1,938 flights in the US today. Most impacted is Newark Liberty Intl with 540 flights cancelled (43% of flights) and four flights delayed more than 15 minutes, reported FlightAware.com
Heavy snow is expected to accumulate at PHL, BOS, EWR, LGA and JFK and could also impact diversion airports throughout the region. Gusty wind conditions are forecasted along the New England coast, increasing the likelihood of ground stops and ground delay programs. Additionally, rain showers along the Gulf Coast and over Florida may add to today’s disruption.
Airlines are allowing fee-free changes (and refunds in some cases) for itineraries potentially impacted by the storm. Airlines have cancelled 187 flights tomorrow in the US.
