SNOW DISRUPTION AFFECTS NORTH EAST US COAST

For the third time in a month, snow in the North East coast of the US, forced airline to cancel flights and virtually shit New York airports La Guardia and JFK.

Some 1,500 passengers were stranded overnight at Philadelphia International Airport as a foot and a half of snow fell.

Delta and its Delta Connection affiliate canceled more than 475 flights in the region from Washington to Boston and flights were not expected to resume until last night. JetBlue Airways cancelled 260 flights yesterday, and 115 on Wednesday.

American Airlines and regional affiliate American Eagle cancelled 177 flights by midmorning yesterday and the number was still rising.

Although there were many cancellations, there will not be the same disruption as seen over the holiday period with fewer passengers travelling.
