Speaking to the Irish Independent, chief executive of SMBC Aviation Capital, Peter Barrett, says he intends to drive growth through sale and leaseback transactions.
SMBC grew its portfolio further this week when it took control of two additional aircraft financing units – SMFL Aircraft Capital Corporation and Sumisho Aircraft Asset Management (SAAM) – adding €1.3bn in assets to its books. SMBC Aviation Capital now owns a fleet of 326 aircraft.
