Skyworld Aviation has announced that Air Urga of the Ukraine has taken delivery of a Saab 340B from UK-based investment firm Spitfire Investments. Serial number 360 embarked on its ferry flight from Springfield, U.S. to the Ukrainian operator last Friday. The aircraft has the new registration UR-ELU and is placed on lease with Air Urga.
Air Urga was founded in 1993 and was quickly approved to be added to the list of Carriers Of United Nations. The airline operates a fleet of AN-24 and AN-26 aircraft along with four existing Saab 340B aircraft on a mix of passenger and cargo flights. The existing Saab 340s were recently acquired from Ukrainian operators South Airlines and Business Aviation Center.
Peter Greensmith, Director at Skyworld Aviation, says: "Air Urga’s fifth Saab 340B will be operated on a UN contract and we are proud to have assisted Air Urga in introducing their first Saab 340B from outside of the Ukraine. We look forward to entering into a long term relationship with this expanding operation."
