Japanese carrier, Skymark Airlines has confirmed a firm order of four Boeing 737Max with two on option. The new aircraft are a part of the airline’ plan to modernize the fleet and increase capacity in the long run.
Out of the four, two Boeing 737-8 will be delivered in 2026, while the other two 737-10 are scheduled for delivery in 2026-27. The 737-8 are listed as having a catalogue price of approximately 16.2bn yen per aircraft and the 737-10 are listed for approximately 17.9 bn yen per aircraft.
The resolution on the aircraft purchase was passed at the Board’s meeting on January 18, 2023
Based in Tokyo's Haneda Airport, Skymark Airlines is Japan's third largest carrier by revenue and currently operates an all-Boeing fleet of 29 Next-Generation 737-800s.
According to Boeing, the 737 MAX family has the latest CFM International LEAP-1B engines, advanced technology winglets and other aerodynamic enhancements to improve performance and reduce operating costs.
