Singapore Airlines has said today (February 2) it will launch four-times weekly non-stop flights between Singapore and Riyadh in June 2026.
The route will be operated on its A350-900 aircraft.
“Our return to Riyadh comes amid its thriving business environment and ambitious development, which make it one of the Middle East’s most dynamic cities,” said Singapore Airlines chief commercial officer Lee Lik Hsin.
The airline's low-cost subsidiary Scoot operates four-times weekly flights to Jeddah.
Additionally, the airline said it has formalised its joint business partnership with Malaysia Airlines on Thursday last week (January 29).
The formalisation follows approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia in January, as well as approval by the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore in July 2025.
The approvals allow the airlines to develop their commercial partnership. The partnership aims to enhance connectivity and offer greater flexibility for passengers travelling between the airlines' respective countries.
Initiatives could include revenue sharing flights between Malaysia and Singapore, joint fare products, coordinated flight schedules, and joint corporate travel arrangements across both markets.
“This collaboration brings together complementary frequencies and aligned schedules, enabling deeper connectivity between Malaysia and Singapore," said group managing director for Malaysia Aviation Group Izham bin Ismail. ”Over time, it reinforces Malaysia Airlines’ competitive position by enhancing scale, relevance, and network resilience across key markets.”
“Our win-win collaboration strengthens both carriers' operations, while delivering enhanced value to customers across our combined networks,” Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong.
Since signing their agreement in October 2019, both airlines have continued to expand their codeshare arrangements.
In February 2024, both carriers introduced reciprocal cross-participation between their frequent flyer programmes, allowing members to earn Enrich points and KrisFlyer miles on selected flights operated by the airlines.
