Singapore Airlines Group recovers almost 90% of pre-pandemic June 2019

In June, the Singapore Airlines Group, including Singapore Airlines and Scoot, carried 2.914 million passengers, about 50% more than in 2022 and 90% of the 3.228 million it carried in pre-COVID June 2019. Singapore Changi Airport handled 5.12 million passengers in June, which was 88% of June 2019 levels.

Singapore Airlines Group said it saw strong passenger traffic and load factors across all route regions, with a group load factor of 90.6%. This was due to the high demand for travel during the mid-year school holidays and the onset of the peak summer season. The 90.6% load factor set a new monthly record and was 5.1% ahead of June last year, while passenger traffic grew by 50% year-on-year.

Within the group Singapore Airlines (SIA) carried 1.899 million passengers at a load factor of 89.7% in June 2023, surpassing the 1.883 million at 86.7% in 2019. Scoot also inched closer to its 2019 numbers by carrying 1.015 million at 93.6%, compared to 931,000 at 86.2% in June 2019.

Silk Air carried 414,000 passengers, which brings the group total up to 3.228 million, around 10% more than the group carried this June. In 2019 Singapore Airlines Group included Silk Air as a separate entity

Singapore Airlines recorded load factors of 85.2% in East Asia, 92.5% in The Americas, 91.6% in Europe, 90.9% in South West Pacific and 89.4% in West Asia and Africa.

Scoot's load factors were 92.6% in East Asia, 92.3% in West Asia and 96.7% for the Rest of the World. By the end of June, the Group's passenger network covered 116 destinations in 36 countries and territories, 74 served by SIA and 65 by Scoot
