SIA proposes issue of $500 million 5.25% notes due 2034
Singapore Airlines (SIA) has launched and priced $500 million 5.25% notes due 2034, according to filing made by the company to the Singapore Stock Exchange. The notes are expected to be issued on March 21, 2024. Citigroup Global Markets Singapore and DBS Bank are the joint global coordinators. Citigroup, DBS as well as HSBC Singapore Branch, and JP Morgan Securities Asia Private are the joint lead managers. The notes, which are being offered outside the US in reliance on regulation S, have an issue price of 99.646% of par. SIA plans to use the net proceeds for its aircraft purchases and aircraft related payments as well as general corporate and capital purposes. The airline has reported its February operating results with its available seat kilometres (ASK) up 20.5% year on year (YOY) to 10.58bn. Its revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) up 19.7% YOY to 8.9bn. Passengers carried were up 29.7% to 1.99 million. Its load factor was down less than one percentage point at 84.5%.
