Singapore Airlines has planned a major global expansion of its route network covering the second half of 2023 and entire 2024.

Commenting on the route expansion, JoAnn Tann, senior vice president, SIA said: “With the release of SIA’s Northern Summer schedules, our customers can plan ahead and start to make their travel plans for 2024. Our customers will be able to enjoy greater choice and flexibility when they travel with us as SIA continues to adjust and expand our network in response to demand patterns.”

Singapore Airlines will ramp its Australia service with daily service to Darwin starting March 31, 2024. The airline service to Melbourne will also increase to five daily from May 26, 2024 and SIA will fly to Perth four time every week from November 24 and then expand to daily service from March 31, 2024. The only reduction in service is to Cairns where SIA will reduce five-weekly to four-weekly from March 31, 2024. However, there will be a capacity upgrade from the Boeing 737 MAX 8 to the Airbus A350-900.

As for Bangladesh, Singapore Airlines will commence an additional two-weekly service between its hub and Dhaka. The airline will deploy its Boeing 737 MAX 8 on the route from March 31, 2024 and gradually upgrade it to Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner from July 4, 2024.

SIA will cover Beijing with third daily service deploying its Airbus A350-900, on the Hong-Kong route, the airline will add a fifth daily service from August 1, 2024 and increase it to six daily service, reaching its pre-pandemic capacity.

SIA will add a fourth daily service to Shanghai from October 1 and add another flight from March 31, 2024 bringing the route to pre-pandemic level.

From July 1, 2024, Singapore Airlines will increase its Denmark capacity from five times per week to daily deploying Airbus A350-900 for this service. This service will also restore operations back to pre-pandemic levels.

The Airbus A380 in the Singapore Airlines fleet will be returning to Frankfurt on March 31 next year, which will replace the A350-900 that has been operating the route currently.

Starting September 2024, the airline’s Singapore-Ahmedabad service will increase from five weekly to daily deploying A350-900 on the route.

From October 1, 2023 SIA will add a third daily service to Tokyo Haneda, and from September 1 next year, a fourth daily service will also be implemented.

Malaysia will see a major expansion over the Summer 2024 season, with services expected to increase from 47-weekly to 66-weekly.

From March 31 next year, SIA will commence a daily service to Kuala Lumpur on top of the five additional weekly services. A sixth daily service will be added on this route from August 1, 2024.

Services between Singapore and the Maldives will see services to Male upgraded from the Boeing 737 MAX 8 to the Airbus A350-900.

SIA will also ramp its Singapore-Manchester-Houston route from thrice weekly to five weekly, returning back to pre-pandemic scheduling starting March 31, 2024. The airline will decrease its fifth freedom flight connecting Singapore-Milan-Barcelona from five weekly to thrice weekly, as direct services between Singapore and Barcelona will resume on a twice-weekly, and services to Milan will go up from twice weekly to four weekly.

From August 2024, SIA will add an additional three weekly services to Yangon and will increase overall frequencies from seven weekly to 10 weekly deploying its Boeing 737 MAX 8.

Four additional weekly flights will be added to Dubai from Singapore, using the Airbus A350-900, which will bring the overall frequencies to 11 weekly.

Services between Singapore and Seattle will increase by one weekly additional flight on May 28, 2024 ramping the capacity from thrice to four times per week.

As for Vietnam, SIA will increase from thrice-weekly to a daily service to Da Nang from October 29, leading to 14 flights per week.
