Sheremetyevo Airport wins lawsuit against Avianova

The Moscow Regional Commercial Court has upheld a lawsuit filed by Sheremetyevo International Airport to recover $316,775 in debt from Avianova.
According to Sheremetyevo, pursuant to ground services contracts dated February 27, 2010 the airport rendered services worth $517,830, a figure agreed by all parties. Under the contracts Avianova had ten banking days from the invoice date to pay.
The airline partially paid the debt after the 6.2 million ruble ($200,820) lawsuit was lodged, but gave no indications regarding payment of the remainder of the debt.
Avianova's problems began when the airline's two major shareholders - Russian А1 investment company, part of Alfa Group, and US Indigo Partners fund fell out over what can only be described as an attempt by the Russians to take control of the company by force.
