Shannon Airport has suspended all flights after an aircraft which is used to transport US military personnel has caught fire.
Emergency services attended the scene and all passengers and crew were taken off the Boeing 767-300 aircraft, a statement from the airport said.
It's being reported by RTE and the Irish Times that air traffic controllers noticed a fire and smoke coming from the landing gear of the Omni Air International jet as it taxied along the runway.
Omni Air, a civilian airline transporting US and foreign troops around the world, said on its Twitter account: "We are investigating reports of an incident involving Omni Air International flight 531 at Shannon Airport, Ireland. The Omni Boeing 767-300 aircraft rejected takeoff and was safely evacuated. Initial reports indicate no serious injuries to passengers or crew.
"Our primary concern at this time is for their safety. We are participating in the investigation of this incident and will release further information as it becomes available."
