China's Shandong Airlines is the latest airline seeking compensation from Boeing for economic losses due to the grounding of its 737 Max aircraft, and delayed delivery of future planes.
Shandong Airlines compensation claim follows requests from China Eastern Airlines; as well as Turkish Airlines, which took place earlier this week.
China became the first country to halt the commercial operations of all Boeing 737 Max 8 planes following the fatal crash of Ethiopian Airlines flight ET 302, which crashed shortly after take-off on the morning of March 10 from Addis Ababa airport killing all 149 passengers and eight crew members.
Since then, a worldwide grounding of all 737 Max jets has commenced with no word on when the aircraft is set to fly again.
Shandong airlines halted operation of seven aircraft, including five delivered last year and two delivered in the first quarter of this year, the company said.
