Second A380 Added to Amedeo’s Portfolio

Following the acquisition of MSN 157 in early September, Amedeo has added a second A380 to its owned aircraft portfolio.

The aircraft bearing Manufacturer’s Serial Number (MSN) 164 was delivered yesterday at the Airbus Delivery Centre in Hamburg and was placed on a 12-year operating lease with Emirates.

“Building up our portfolio is key in realizing our strategic objective of creating an actively managed widebody leasing platform. We are delighted to acquire our second A380 on our balance sheet only two months after the delivery of MSN 157”, said Paul Kent, CCO of Amedeo.

The financing arrangements followed a similar fact pattern to the financing structure of MSN 157. The senior and junior loans were provided by a bank syndicate, including Commercial Bank International, China Construction Bank, Dubai Branch (CCB), Qatar National Bank (QNB), Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank and Westpac Banking Corporation (Westpac). As in the previous transaction, Westpac acted as the Senior Agent and the Security Trustee and QNB acted as the Junior Agent.

Norton Rose Fulbright acted on behalf of Amedeo in relation to the lease documentation. Vedder Price acted on behalf of the lenders with respect to the loan documentation and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman advised Emirates.
