Scoot is planning to increase its Taiwan capacity with the addition of its special livery-Pikachu-themed plane in its regular schedule, the airline said in a statement.
Starting March 2023, the Pikachu plane will mark its first appearance landing at Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport.
As of now the airline operates 43 weekly flights to Taiwan with two-third of pre-pandemic capacity restored. The recent schedule includes daily flights to Singapore, Sapporo, and Narita in Japan, and Incheon in South Korea.
Scoot has already restored about 70% of its pre-pandemic capacity so far and the occupancy rate on the route Singapore-Taipei-Tokyo has reached 90% of the pre-COVID level, the airline said.
The special livery Japanese Pokemon cartoon character Pikachu plan is operational on the routes to Japan and South Korea since September 2022. The Pokemon characters are not only featured on the outside of the jet, but also on inside with special amenities and on exclusive merchandise available to passengers.
