Scoot axes Gold Coast service, ramps China capacity

Scoot is planning to suspend its services to Australia’s Gold Coast from July 2023 as it adjusts its capacity in response to demand.  Scoot's last flight out of the Gold Coast will be on July 17, 2023.

Meanwhile the airline will continue to operate 10 weekly flights from Singapore to Melbourne, and Singapore to Sydney. Flights to Perth will be increased to 12 times a week from Mar 26, 2023 to continue supporting connectivity between Australia and the rest of our network,” the airline said.

Post pandemic, Scoot resumed services to Gold Coast in February 2022. It is currently the only airline in Singapore that flies directly to the Gold Coast.

Scoot will progressively increase its total flights to China from 14-times weekly to 26-times weekly by stepping up flight frequencies to seven of its existing destinations namely Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Qingdao, Tianjin and Zhengzhou.

The airline will resume services to Haikou, Ningbo and Xi’an, bringing the total number of weekly flights to China to 42-times weekly, starting April 2023. The airline will start services to Nanning and Shenyang in May 2023, totally the weekly flight capacity to China to 57 by the end of June 2023.

Scoot also plans to ramp its Athens capacity from two to four weekly. The airline will also increase services to Sapporo via Taipei from three to four times weekly and flight frequencies to Tokyo via Taipei add up to 12-times weekly.
