Saudi Arabia's national flag carrier, Saudia is expanding flight frequencies and seat capacity for the Muslim pilgrimage, Umrah - which will see pilgrims travel to Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The service expansion is being facilitated through the Saudia's subsidiary Saudia Hajj and Umrah, which is dedicated to services and operations for pilgrims. Another subsidiary initiative is to modernise and develop its aircraft fleet.
The subsidiary had recently received a license from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to serve 10,000 pilgrims.
Umrah is non-compulsive religious pilgrimage that can be held at any point of the year. Hajj, a mandatory pilgrimage in at least once in a lifetime, will be held in June this year.
Saudia will offer various hotel packages for pilgrims.
