Scandinavian Airlines will resume flights between Oslo and New York Newark from the end of March next year.
The airline will operate an Airbus A340 aircraft on the route. This is a departure for SAS as it operates the majority of its long-haul routes from Copenhagen.
The only competition on this route is presented by fellow SAS Star Alliance carrier Continental Airlines. However Oslo-based low-cost carrier Norwegian aims to use its two newly ordered 787s on the same route – although this is likely to be delayed as the delivery schedule is pushed back yet again.
