SAS TO ORDER BOMBARDIER C SERIES AIRCRAFT

As one of its biggest European clients, Bombardier is confident it will win an order from SAS Group for some 55 of its C Series aircraft. The airline is understood to be evaluating the CS300 variant of the CSeries, which seats 120 to 145 people.

SAS fleet planning chief Niklas Hardange said: “Bombardier is the one offering the newest technique, and has a plane that’s a lot more fuel efficient than Airbus and Boeing have today. If the CSeries keeps its promises it’ll be a very successful product.”

The Nordic airline is comparing the CSeries against the 737 and A320 family aircraft. The new order will phase out 37 older 737s and Boeing MD-80s over the next few years while also adding capacity.
