Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) recorded a 23% increase in passenger traffic in June 2023 as compared to the same time last year. This figure was the highest ever recorded by SAS since the onset of the pandemic.

The airline recorded a growth of 17% in capacity and revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) as compared to June 2022.  The passenger load factor stood at an impressive 81% during the month.

The airline carried almost 2.4 million passengers which the airline believes is a testimony that underscores the airline’s commitment to delivering unparalleled experiences.

SAS faced challenges in June due to air traffic control capacity issues at Copenhagen Airport, which serves as the airline’s main hub. Despite the challenges faced, SAS said that it continues to remain resilient and prioritize passenger satisfaction and safety.

Going ahead, the airline expects a strong passenger traffic for July.

Expressing his excitement, Anko van der Werff, president & chief executive SAS said: “We look forward to welcoming our passengers on board our aircraft as we enter July, the busiest month of the year.”
