Following SAS's Norwegian cabin crew going on strike on August 23, 2024, the airline has reached an agreement with the unions representing them on August 27, 2024.
""During the four-day strike a limited number of flights were affected primarily in Norway,"" the company read in a statement. ""By tomorrow SAS expects the traffic program to be back to its normal operations.""
The airline is currently in the midst of a restructuring process. SAS chief airline services Kjetil Håbjørg said: ""Today’s agreement means that we now can put our full focus on finalising the restructuring of SAS and set the course to build and grow a profitable airline that can offer world-class travel experience and network to our customers.""
The cabin crew were represented by unions The Norwegian Federation of Trade Unions – representing around 640 cabin crew members – and Parat represents around 240 members.
Parat said in a press release it has achieved a salary increase of approximately 7.5% and will be paid in arrears from May 1, 2024. It added cabin crew will also have a ""somewhat reduced workload"".
