Last week, Esken, the aviation and energy infrastructure group, informed the market that its proposed sale of its entire shareholdings in Stobart Air Unlimited Company (which operates regional flights under a franchise agreement for Aer Lingus) and Stobart Air (UK) Limited, the owner of Carlisle Lake District Airport, to Ettyl may be in doubt since Ettyl's proposed financing for the transaction was no longer available. Ettyl is registered in the Isle of Man. It has now been reported by a UK news service that Ettyl has raised concerns with the Isle of Man police constabulary about an issue with the paperwork supplied by one of its proposed third-party funders. Ettyl has not made any further comments on the deal save for the June 1 statement from Esken that says it was progressing discussions with another potential financing source and that a further update would be made when appropriate.
