Safran has established a new manufacturing facility for landing-gear equipment within the Casablanca airport zone.
This new facility is part of Safran's strategy to support the ramp-up of Airbus A320 production by deploying a modern, highly efficient manufacturing operation located close to its key strategic markets.
The facility represents an investment of over €280 million and has a 280,000 sq ft site. The site will be dedicated to landing systems for short- and medium-haul aircraft and will incorporate two areas of expertise: the manufacture of landing gear components and modules, as well as dedicated hydraulic equipment.
The facility is scheduled for operation in 2029 and will employ nearly 500 skilled workers.
“The choice of location for this new facility is based on Morocco’s industrial robustness and the quality of its talent pool," said Safran CEO Olivier Andries. "Embedded within a dynamic aviation ecosystem, this new site will strengthen our resilience, agility, and competitiveness, allowing us to meet our customers’ expectations—notably Airbus—and to prepare for the future generation of aircraft.”
As part of the agreement signed between Safran and the Moroccan government in 2025, the new facility will be powered entirely by decarbonised electricity.
