Afghanistan carrier, Safi Airways, is continuing operations after it agreed to pay off an outstanding AFN1.152 billion Afghani (US$17.28 million) tax bill in instalments. The Afghan Civil Aviation Authority (AfCAA) and the Ministry of Finance had threatened to ground the airline if the tax arrears spanning 2011 to 2014 was not repaid.
