The Saertex group has signed a new agreement with Bombardier Aerospace to supply high-performance multi-axial and uni-directional reinforcements, also known as non-crimp fabrics (NCFs). The NCFs will be used by Bombardier in the production of major primary structures for its new CSeries and Learjet 85 aircraft. Saertex estimates the total volume of orders during the next ten years could exceed €250 million.
Bruno Lammers, chairman of the Saertex group, says: "The agreements with Bombardier are really something special for Saertex, and we are proud that our commitment to providing high-quality, technical products has been rewarded by Bombardier. Saertex is glad to have been able to offer its innovative materials and manufacturing solutions to Bombardier for their new aircraft, and we are excited to be involved in such major programmes.
