Sabre appoints executive director for APAC market expansion

Software and technology provider for global transport industry Sabre has appointed Rajiv Bhatia as executive director, APAC market expansion. In his new role, he will be integral to the company's expansion into key growth markets in the region, including India. Bhatia has 40 years of experience in the travel industry, including Gulf Air and Thai Airways. ""With over 40 years of experience in the travel industry, we’re confident Rajiv will help us to accelerate growth in India and other key markets across the wider APAC region,"" said Sabre vice president, agency sales & airline distribution, Asia Pacific Brett Thorstad. ""At this point in my career, I’m excited to be shifting my focus to advising on broader, strategic initiatives and helping build key customer relationships across India and other growth markets,"" said Bhatia. Most recently, Bhatia served at Bird Group for over 16 years, with his most recent position being chief commercial officer for the company's India GDS business.
