Ryanair takes delivery of 10 new Boeing jets as 737 output strengthens

Low-cost carrier Ryanair has taken delivery of 10 new aircraft from Boeing within the past 10 days, according to a report from Bloomberg.

Ryanair Designated Activity Company (DAC) CEO Eddie Wilson said this is an unusually high rate of delivery for the airline and that only a few jets remain before next summer's peak travel season.

The news comes as Boeing expects to see its production cap on the 737 MAX aircraft raised from 38 units per month to 42 units per month during the fourth quarter, as reported by Airline Economics.

In January 2024, following the Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 door plug incident, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) imposed the 38-unit-per-month production cap on 737 MAX aircraft.

The FAA continues to maintain intense scrutiny of Boeing and is closely monitoring its plans for "systemic change" to improve safety and quality.
