In August 2023, Ryanair carried 16.9 million passengers – an increase of 11% over the same month in 2022. The airline’s August load factor was 96%.
Ryanair operated over 103,000 flights in August 2023, however the airline confirmed that over 350 flights (63,000 pax) were cancelled on 28th/29th Aug due to NATS ATC computer failure, which Ryanair complained had still not been explained.
Meanwhile, Ryanair has added over 1.6 million extra seats across 660 routes to accommodate those travelling between 15 Dec – 8 Jan over the Christmas holiday.
Ryanair’s Head of Communications, Jade Kirwan, said: “Ryanair is delighted to announce an early Christmas present for our customers with the addition of 1.6 million seats for Dec 23 and Jan 24 in response to strong Christmas demand. As Europe’s No.1 airline for low fares and reliability, we are delighted to see that customers are booking Ryanair in the confidence that we are best placed to get them home to their loved ones safely, on time and at fares that won’t break the Secret Santa budget, as we have been doing for the past 38 years now.”
