Ryanair has opened its new base in Tangier, Morocco, having commenced based operations from May 2024.
This base, opened July 9, is Ryanair’s fourth base in Morocco, with two based aircraft (investment of $200m) and 25 routes including 13 new routes.
According to Ryanair, this base opening “will increase Tangier summer 2024 capacity by +70% and is an important part of the record summer 2024 schedule across 12 Moroccan airports, delivering over 5m passengers (+31% growth) to, from, and now within the Kingdom.
“Ryanair’s investment in Morocco now exceeds over US$1.4bn in aircraft – supporting over 5,000 direct and indirect jobs and delivering economic growth across 12 cities including Rabat, Marrakesh, Fez, Agadir, Tetouan, Essaouira, and Nador,"" said Ryanair’s CEO, Eddie Wilson. “We are delighted to officially launch our new base at Tangier, which represents a $200 million investment and our fourth Moroccan base. This latest base opening is part of our record S24 schedule which will see Ryanair operate over 170 routes across the Kingdom, boosting tourism and connectivity”.
