Ryanair has announced its chief operations officer Peter Bellew is to step down at the end of the year.
The announcement was made in a memo by chief executive officer Michael O’Leary, as first reported by Reuters.
Joining Ryanair in December 2017, Bellew was previously chief executive of Malaysia Airlines.
Bellew's resignation comes amid a restructuring period for the airline as O'Leary prepares to become chief executive of Ryanair’s new group structure, including Lauda and Buzz airlines.
In the memo, O'Leary said: “Bellew has done great work over the past 18 months to improve our operations, renew our engineering team, and significantly improve our operations management and on-time performance."
