Russia sees 17% boost in traffic during the first half of 2012

Rosaviatsia, the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency, has reported that Russian airlines carried 32 million passengers during the first half of 2012 – an increase of 17% compared to the same period last year. International passenger numbers rose 24.3% to 16.3 million passengers, while domestic traffic rose by 10.3% to 15.7 million.
UTair posted the highest increase by improving passenger figures by 53.4% to 3.6 million. During the same period, Aeroflot’s passenger traffic grew by 27.2% to 8million, while Rossiya carried 1.9 million passengers – an increase of 25.1%.
Sibir carried 2.7 million passengers, up 21%, while Transaero Airlines carried 4.4 million, a rise of 26.2%.
