Malaysia Airlines and Rolls-Royce & Partners Finance (RRPF) have completed a sale and lease-back transaction to finance four Trent 900 spare engines with a value of US$ 90 million, at 2013 list prices. The Trent 900 spare engines support Malaysia Airlines fleet of A380 aircraft. Aminuddin Zakaria, Malaysia Airlines, Senior Vice President Airline Engineering Group, said “Malaysia Airlines have a long history of working with RRPF and we look forward to extending this with the Trent 900 spare engines.”

The relationship between Malaysia Airlines and Rolls-Royce & Partners Finance stretches back to 1998, with a spare engine sale and lease-back transaction for the airline’s Trent 800 and RB211-524D4 spare engines, supporting the 777 and 747 aircraft.
