Royal Jordanian cuts more routes in ongoing cost-cutting drive

Royal Jordanian has outlined a route rationalization plan aimed at cutting costs and improving efficiency at the airline.

Royal Jordanian chairman, Nasser Lozi, stated that services to Mumbai will be withdrawn from September 10th; to Lagos from October 10th, and to Delhi from October 31st.

In addition to rising fuel prices and the ongoing threat of conflict in the region, Lozi also attributed the cessations to reduced demand and aggressive regional competition.

The airline has suspended operations to a total of seven destinations in the Middle East and North Africa due to security concerns in the region.

Royal Jordanian is also due to take delivery of its first B787-8 during August, with four more due to arrive before the end of 2014.
