Royal Jordanian Airlines adopts Viasat Wi-Fi
Royal Jordanian Airlines has adopted Viasat’s Wi-Fi connectivity systems, with plans to equip more than 40 aircraft with the technology. These will include factory installations aboard the upcoming Embraer E2, A320, A321 and 787 MAX 9 fleets, as well as retrofit solutions for its 787-8 fleet. “We look forward to introducing the first Wi-Fi on board our E2 Embraer jets arriving by the end of this month,” commented Samer Makali, vice chairman and board designee CEO of Royal Jordanian Airlines. VP and GM of commercial aviation at Viasat Don Buchman added: “We are proud to be a part of enabling a next-level experience through fast and resilient connectivity wherever Royal Jordanian Airlines flies”. The flag carrier of Jordan is expected to adopt Viasat’s high-speed, high-capacity Ka-band satellite network, including (once launched and operational) the ViaSat-3 constellation.
