Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) Brunei Darussalam’s national carrier has agreed to the lease of two new A320 passenger aircraft from AWAS. These aircraft will come from AWAS’ existing new order with the manufacturer and will be delivered in the second half of 2015.
Dermot Mannion, Deputy Chairman of RB commented on the agreement: “We thank the AWAS team for finalising this transaction in a very compressed timeframe. This announcement marks the beginning of our short haul fleet renewal process, ahead of the arrival of up to 10 A320neo aircraft at the end of 2017. Overall, we will soon operate one of the youngest short haul fleets in the world, to complement our state of the art Dreamliner B787 fleet on long haul.”
Ray Sisson, President & CEO AWA, said: “AWAS is very pleased to provide this fleet modernisation solution to Royal Brunei Airlines as well as re-establish our business relationship with them. Our technical and integrated Commercial teams excel at providing customers the required lift, customised to their exacting specifications.”
AWAS and RB have a long history of working together, dating back over 20 years when RB first leased B767 aircraft.
