Royal Air Maroc is planning to add 6 million seats in the upcoming summer season. The airline has strengthened its flight program to most destinations hoping for a strong recovery of business travel and tourism.
The airline will boost its international network to 26 routes with 901,800 seats. For North America the airline is scaling up its seat capacity by 6% to 500,000 and 25% increase with 200,000 seats for Middle Eastern destinations.
Between Northern Morocco and Europe, Royal Air Maroc will also strengthen the ten regular routes linking Tangier, Nador, and Oujda to European cities with six new direct flights. The airline will introduce three new flights to connect Tangier to Madrid, Barcelona, and London, while two direct routes will be added to link Nador to Madrid and Barcelona. The airline will also start a direct flight connecting Oujda to Dusseldorf in Germany.
The airline plans to ramp up the capacity on Casablanca to Barcelona, Bologna, Malaga, Madrid, Brussels, and Milan routes to twice daily flights to meet the high demand.
Hamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc expressed hope and confidence for a strong recovery to make the summer of 2023 successful in terms of both operational efficiency and service quality. He further said that this is a testing time for all of the Royal Air Maroc’s staff and we will take the challenge head on.
The airline has opened up a large number of domestic and international routes post pandemic and hopes to cash-in the demand during the peak summer season.
Since the opening of international travel Royal Air Maroc has over 2.3 million seat capacity for Europe with 902 weekly flights connecting 11 cities in Morocco to 34 popular European destinations.
The airline is also planning to charter six aircraft from other airlines to make sure the summer schedule goes flawless.
