Royal Air Maroc shopping for strategic partner

Royal Air Maroc is searching for a strategic partner in its bid to return to profitability. The airline, which was bailed out by the Moroccan government in 2011, needs more help to face off the increased competition from low-cost carriers.
Reuters reports Mehdi El Yaalaoui saying: "At the moment, Royal Air Maroc is a state company but we want to go to the market. We need to partner with a bigger company, especially through finance," he said. "We have an idea who but I am not going to say."
Speculators hazard that a future partner could be one of the Gulf carriers.
